Red & White

My husband gave me a red purse that I love so much I took it to the hardware store
and had paint matched for my front door.
Red makes me happy- so what better color to blog about.

My friend, Kim Walus, who is a fabulous quilter and cardmaker, shared photos of her daughter,
Ariel's wedding in new Zealand.

I loved the dress Ariel wore- vintage. To make it her own she added a sassy red petticoat.
She definitely vintage glam going on.

Next came her Vivienne Westwood shoes. A found a link to the heart shoes on ebay.

Kim created a work of art for her daughter's bridal bouquet.

Kim's blog has a tutorial on making this fabric bouquet.

Other Red, Pink, and White items I adore...

Paris Birthday Party

For my mom, Sidnie's, 70th I planned a Paris theme luncheon for 20 women. This is the dessert bar.

One of the table settings. I decorated popcorn boxes and used them for the salads.

Another table setting. I hung a chandelier with beautiful ribbons from the ceiling fan.

Guests wrote birthday wishes and pinned them to the mannequin.

Details of the front door. Silk flower with ribbons and Paris picture found online.

When I took the cake to my mom for us to sing to her- I tilted the cake and it slipped. See picture below.

The cake is from Dear Lizzy http://www.mydearlizzy.com/
.
I hot glued the trim on the cake stand to go with the decor. Peeled right off after.
The Photos were taken by Kayla Morris

These where made with dyed coffee filters, tissue paper and cubcake liners.

I used big tissue balls, tulle, and ribbons for the window. Even put up brown linen drapes.
The party was wonderful and my mom felt adored and loved.
I would enjoy hearing comments. If you have questioned about how to make something just ask.
I will add the invite later- it was perfect for getting the guests excited for the party.

Why I Party

I love making people feel special. The first party I put on was a bridal shower for my best friend. After the party she gave me a big hug telling me that her party was the most wonderful shower she had ever been to and it was HERS. I loved how I made her feel. We now both have 6 children and live 2000 miles apart. But pick up the phone and it's like we are the giggling girls on our teens.

When Jacob was 3 I created the best fireman birthday party ever- the local fire department came and let the kids on the truck. As the firemen were leaving they put on the lights and sirens and sang "happy birthday" to him. At 16 when he looks in his scrapbook he gets a huge grin remembering that day.

Once a week a will be blogging about parties I have done or ones that tickle my fancy.
Hope they make you smile.
